ISP proxies vs residential proxies by ISP: which to buy in 2026

Both are sold as 'Comcast IPs' or 'AT&T IPs'. One is a static address in a data center, the other a real home connection. Here is how to choose.

Quick answer

What is the difference between ISP proxies and residential proxies by ISP?

ISP proxies are static IPs registered to an ISP but hosted in a data center, sold per IP per month (from about $0.23 to $5 per IP at the providers we checked on 2026-10-18). Residential proxies by ISP are real home connections chosen by the ISP's ASN, billed per GB. Broadband Proxies sells only the second kind, from $2.63 for 1 GB; no KYC, crypto only.

How do the two products compare?

What do sellers mean by 'ISP proxies'?

The term describes a product, not a network. Sellers lease blocks of addresses that an ISP has registered, then announce or route them from their own servers. Their pages say so: one describes 'ISP-assigned addresses (Comcast, Verizon, AT&T) hosted on our infrastructure' (NodeMaven, read 2026-10-18). Lookups show the ISP's ASN, which is why the IPs are marketed as residential-looking.

The ISPs named in ISP-proxy offers we read on 2026-10-18 include Comcast (Oxylabs, NodeMaven, Webshare), AT&T and Verizon (Decodo, NodeMaven), Lumen, Frontier and Cox (Oxylabs), and RCN, Windstream and Spirit (Geonode).

What do ISP proxies cost per IP?

Published monthly prices for static ISP proxies, read on each provider's pricing page.

When should I buy residential proxies by ISP instead?

When the question is what households see. A broadband offer page, an ISP-targeted ad, a CDN edge choice or a fraud score can depend on more than the ASN: the IP's history, whether it is shared, and whether it behaves like a home line. A static data-center IP registered to Comcast answers 'what does Comcast's ASN see'; a real Comcast home IP answers 'what does a Comcast customer see'.

That is the product Broadband Proxies sells: home IPs from 35 documented networks, with city and ZIP on top, from $2.63 for 1 GB. See residential proxies by ISP.

When is an ISP proxy the better choice?

When you need one IP for days or weeks, steady speed, and the ISP label matters more than a real household behind it: a business managing its own accounts from a fixed IP, or a long-running integration that whitelists your address. Broadband Proxies does not sell static ISP proxies; the sellers in the table above do.

ISP proxies vs residential: FAQ

Are ISP proxies residential IPs?

They are registered to residential ISPs but hosted in data centers, so no household uses them. Sellers often call them 'static residential'. Residential proxies by ISP come from home connections.

Can a site tell the difference?

Sometimes. Both show the ISP's ASN, but other signals differ: how many users share the IP, its history, and network characteristics. We make no claim about how any site classifies an IP.

Which is cheaper?

It depends on use. ISP proxies charge per IP per month regardless of traffic; residential proxies charge per GB. Light checks across many cities usually cost less per GB, while heavy traffic on one fixed IP usually costs less per IP.

Does Broadband Proxies plan to sell ISP proxies?

No such product is planned on this site. We sell rotating and sticky residential traffic by ISP, plus dedicated US mobile ports on the pricing page.
