We do not check identity documents, so the rules on use do the work. This page says what the service is for, what closes an account and how abuse is handled.

**Quick answer — What can Broadband Proxies be used for?**

**Broadband Proxies** is for lawful work that needs a US home IP on a chosen ISP or city. Typical uses are ad verification, checks of ISP-specific offers and prices, QA on one network, CDN research, polite public-data collection and brand protection. Fraud, account takeover, spam, DDoS, ad fraud, scalping and any illegal use close the account. The gateway refuses these targets on all plans: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587.

## Who does this policy bind?

The account holder, every sub-user, and anyone whose traffic uses your credentials, including staff, clients, scripts and AI agents. It covers residential traffic, dedicated ports, rotating mobile traffic, the website, the client area and the API. It forms part of the [Terms of Service](https://broadbandproxies.com/terms/). Any breach by these people is treated as a breach by the account holder.

## Which uses are allowed?

Uses that are lawful and that respect the rules of the sites involved, for example:

- **Ad verification by ISP**: confirming which ads a Comcast, Spectrum or AT&T household sees in a given city.
- **ISP offers and pricing**: checking the plans, prices and availability messages a provider shows on its own network.
- **QA and bug reproduction**: reproducing an issue that users report on one network, in one city or ZIP code.
- **Network and CDN research**: measuring how sites and content networks respond to different US access networks.
- **Public-data collection** that follows robots.txt and the site's terms, at a reasonable pace.
- **Brand protection**: finding copies, fake shops and misuse of your brand as local users see them.

More examples are on the [use cases page](https://broadbandproxies.com/use-cases/).

## Which uses are forbidden?

Using Broadband Proxies, directly or through someone else, for any of the following closes the account:

1. fraud, scams or phishing, or help with them;
2. carding: testing, using or selling stolen card data;
3. account takeover or credential stuffing;
4. spam or bulk unsolicited messages on any channel;
5. DDoS attacks, traffic floods, or scans without the owner's consent;
6. ad or click fraud: never click ads, or load pages only to create impressions;
7. ticket scalping, or buying up limited stock with bots;
8. bonus, promotion or referral abuse;
9. evading platform restrictions or bans, or a site's deliberate blocks;
10. unauthorized access to any system, account or data;
11. malware, command-and-control traffic or illegal content;
12. breaching sanctions or export controls;
13. anything else that is illegal where you are or where the traffic goes;
14. reselling access without our written agreement.

## Which targets are blocked?

The gateway refuses these targets on all plans: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. The block applies whatever ISP, city or ZIP you target. Reaching a blocked target through another proxy or a tunnel breaks this policy. Trying again and again counts as a breach too.

## Where is the service unavailable?

Some countries are not available, for legal or sourcing reasons, including countries and regions under comprehensive sanctions. You may not use Broadband Proxies for, or on behalf of, a person, entity or place under sanctions. We may refuse or suspend service in case of abuse, fraud or a legal obligation.

## What do we expect from you?

- Follow the law where you are and where your traffic arrives.
- Read and respect each site's terms and robots.txt, and send an honest user agent.
- Pace your requests, and wait before retrying when a site returns a 429 or 503 status.
- Keep your account number and proxy passwords private.
- Hold your sub-users, clients and agents to these same rules.
- Answer our questions about traffic from your account.

## How do we handle abuse?

Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. Depending on the facts, we may warn you, disable a sub-user, suspend the account during a review, or close it. When harm is ongoing, we act without notice. Closing an account forfeits its balance and traffic; see the [Refund Policy](https://broadbandproxies.com/refunds/).

## How do I report abuse coming from your IPs?

Email abuse@broadbandproxies.com with:

- the IP address;
- the date and time, in UTC;
- the target host or URL;
- what happened, with log lines or headers if you have them.

The [contact page](https://broadbandproxies.com/contact/) explains what else helps us act quickly.

## What about requests from authorities?

We answer valid legal process as the law requires, using only the records described in the [Privacy Policy](https://broadbandproxies.com/privacy/). We hold no identity documents, because we do not collect them. Our upstream network provider keeps its own records.
